Josh who is originally from and born in Oshawa, Ontario, moved to Powassan, Ontario in 2004 and began his coaching experience.

For the past 7 years Josh has served as an Assistant Coach with the Powassan Voodoos Junior A Hockey Club in the NOJHL. Before that he has been the head coach of many teams in Powassan for the PMHA as well as High School in the NDHL.

In 2005 Josh started his own hockey school called, Canadian Hockey Skills & Conditioning. Josh has been successfully running his hockey school for the past 23 years out of Powassan Ontario, as well as North Bay and as far as Santa Barbara, California. Josh describes himself as a student / teacher of the game. He is not only a coach, a skills instructor, and plays himself but he also took refereeing courses and became a ref just to learn a different side of the game and to help his coaching in understanding the rules better as well as teach them.

Coach Josh’s philosophy revolves around the game of hockey as a team sport. One player cannot guarantee victory for any team. He is a believer in the individual that is motivated to improve his or her personal and situational ability and can inspire their teammates to elevate their game. No matter age or experience or role in the game, the sport of hockey requires constant learning to improve performance.

Congratulations Coach Josh, lets get to work!
