Trappers AAA Roundup

Pee Wee Majors travelled to Sudbury for a weekend set against the Wolves. The team continues to show a strong focus and improvement. In game one the Trappers took a 3-2 lead into the third, but fell short on a penalty shot that gave the Wolves a 4-3 victory. Game 2 was a tight defensive battle with the score 1-0 after two. The Trappers couldn’t find the offense needed to push ahead and Sudbury managed a few more to take a 4-0 win. In Sundays match the Trappers came with a determined focus and executed a strong team effort to grab the victory 5-4. Overall it was a strong effort by everyone. The team will be travelling to Toronto this weekend for a tournament.

The minor bantam Savignac AAA Trappers faced the Nickel City Sons over the weekend. Losing the first 2 games Saturday, by scores of 7-3 and 5-2. The Trappers bounced back with a 3-2 win on Sunday.

The major bantam Trappers, sponsored by The Station travelled to Timmins this past weekend to take on the Timmins Eagles for two league games. In game one Saturday night the Trappers defeated the Eagles 10-1. The Trappers were lead offensively by Kobe Seguin with 1 goal and 3 assists, Nick Wojick with 2 goals and 1 assist, Ian Denomme chipped in with 1 goal and 2 assists, Ryan Mills had 2 goals. Single tallies went to Payton Vescio, Hunter Foreshew, Ethan Allair and Cole Craft. Brady Lacharity chipped in with 3 assists with other helpers going to Matt Hardwick (2), Jacob Peterson-Galema and Currie Giesler. Joe Rainville picked up the win between the pipes.

In game two on Sunday the Trappers were lead by Vescio who set up three goals. Mills had 2 goals while singles went to Sam Garagan, Denomme, Lacharity and Craft. Single assists went to Foreshew and Wojick. Zach Roy picked up the win in net. Other team members with solid efforts this weekend are Adam Howe and Cole Goddard.
The Trappers travel to the Nickel City to take on the Nickel City Sons next weekend. Game times are 8pm Saturday and 10:30 Sunday at Centennial Arena.


The minor peewee’s are pleased to announce that they have secured major sponsors for the upcoming season. BDI Canada and Skaters Edge have offered their support this season. The BDI minor peewee Trappers and the NBDTHA would like to thank both sponsors for their support this coming season.

The NBDTHA is currently accepting quotes to be the official North Bay and District Trappers Hockey Association supplier for all team and association apparel. This includes all team jerseys, game socks, jackets, track suits etc.

Please submit your quotes to Guy Blanchard at no later than July 30, 2015.


The NBDTHA is currently accepting Head Coach applications for it’s inaugural season of minor midget AAA hockey in 2016/17. Please submit your application to:
North Bay and District Trappers Hockey Association, 255C Fisher St., North Bay, Ontario, P1B2C8 no later than October 30, 2015. The successful coach must be HP1 certified or be registered for HP1 training by summer of 2016.
